The Hirdaramani Group recently launched a group wide employee talent show. Developed in partnership with renowned Sri Lankan artist Navaratne Gamage, the project aims to give opportunity for employees to showcase a wide variety of talents from singing and dancing to composing, acting, presenting and writing.

The talent show launched its first stage in September with an extensive audition process in each factory, run by a team of experienced directors and producers as the judging panel. Based on the auditions the panel will select 100 to 150 individuals to participate in the second stage of the program.
The selected participants will then enter a training and mentoring stage where they will work with Gamage and his team of experts to finetune their performances in preparation for a grand concert to be held at the end of the year. The second stage will also see well respected Sri Lankan artists coming on board as mentors providing valuable feedback and assistance to the selected employees.
“The apparel industry is one of the strongest and most dynamic industry sectors in the country, and remains the highest contributor to GDP. This combined with the commitment of employers to a good work environment make it the ideal sector for people looking to build their careers,” said Tony Nadaraja, CEO, Hirdaramani Woven Cluster and Mercury Apparel clusters
“At Hirdaramani we are, and always have been, committed to creating an environment that fosters our employees’ potential. This includes encouraging an exploration of their talents beyond their work capabilities, we understand that well rounded experiences are essential to each individual as they build a better future, one that we hope to empower,” said Ananda Weerakoone, CEO, Hirdaramani Knit Cluster
The project marks a significant step in the Group’s drive to develop employees’ potential both professionally and personally. A commitment reinforced this year with their campaign ‘Your Company, Your Future,’ a slogan that embodies the management’s recognition that employees are and have always been the force of innovation and success at Hirdaramani.
A pioneer in the Sri Lankan apparel industry, the Hirdaramani Group has evolved from a single retail store established in 1890 to a diversified group of over 30,000 employees spread across six industries and six countries.
