Commercial Credit basketball team triumphs in ‘B’ Division
The Commercial Credit Basket Ball Team triumphed recently winning the ‘B’ Division Mercantile Services Basketball Tournament held at the Otters Courts. Meeting Sri Lankan Airlines at the title encounter, Commercial Credit beat them with a convincing margin of 70 to 59 points.
Coached by Panduka Ranasinghe, the Commercial Credit Basket Ball Team comprises (Captain) Manaram Bandara, Faizal Devananda, Shashrika Pussegolla, Harshadeva Yasaratne, Amila Rathnayake, Gayan de Croos, Indika Jayatissa, Shehan Dias and Kavinda de Silva.
“We’re very proud of this achievement. In fact last year we played in the ‘D’ Division and being undefeated we were promoted to the ‘C’ Division, but we volunteered to play in the “B” division this year. The morale and determination are very high among all team members and we have now set our sights on clinching the ‘A’ Division title,” members of the winning team affirmed.
