The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) will be knowledge partner to Ananda College ICT Society annual conference, “Pulz’ 12”.
Throughout its 25-year legacy of 25 glorious years, the ICT society of Ananda College (ACICTS) has rendered a great service to the school and the country.

It has produced many giants in the field of modern ICT. Taking a leap above the contemporary ICT societies, each year ACICTS organises “Pulz”, the annual ICT conference of Ananda College.  This is one of the most unique and enthusiastically awaited ICT related events in Sri Lanka.
Continuing its legacy to greater heights the ACICTS has taken steps to organise the latest version of the Pulz series, “Pulz’ 12”. It will be held on 1 October at Hotel Galadari.
Commending the endeavour to always keep improving that has marked the activities of Ananda College ICT Society, ICTA CEO Reshan Dewapura said, “A look at the activities of the jubilee celebrant ACICTS shows that each year it has made tremendous improvement on the previous year. This determination to always look ‘ad astra’ without sitting complacent on the laurels of achievements already made is a sure foundation for success.  I am glad that the great past and current leaders of Ananda College have instilled this trait in the student body of this great college.”
Corroborating this trait of doing better than before, ““Pulz’’ 12” features many an improvement. Among these manifestations of the characteristic of ever improving is that unlike its previous versions, “Pulz’12” is focused on building a developed school-based ICT community within the country.  The initiative serving this purpose will be launched during “Pulz’ 12”. “This social dimension is highly commendable,” Dewapura affirmed.
Alluding to another indication of the ACICTS trait to always improve ICTA CEO said, “I am glad that taking the tradition of innovation to a new level, 3D technology will be used at “Pulz’ 12”.
““Pulz’’ 12” will be the first conference in Sri Lanka to utilise the 3D technology.”
Though 3D technology is widely used in conferences and trade shows throughout the western world, it is fairly new to countries like Sri Lanka.  All the invitees to the conference will be given a pair of 3D glasses to provide them with a unique new immersive experience in 3D. All the intros and videos will be previewed in full 3D and even some of the presentations will use the technology to facilitate a more interactive and engaging viewer experience.
In order to broaden the view of the event, ACICTS officially broadcasts “Pulz’ 12”
via the internet. This will allow an unlimited number of people to witness “Pulz’ 12” in the comfort of their homes. The webcast will be recorded and uploaded to the internet to be accessed for later viewing.
Featuring competitions of a unique calibre promoting practical ICT usage in everyday tasks and enhancing the theoretical usage of technology simultaneously, “Pulz’ 12” will open new pathways. It will open vistas for students wishing to engage in the field of ICT and provide a fascinating new view on future technologies and the endless possibilities of their applications.
Schools attending will stand a chance to win nationally recognised, Government approved certificates and awards authenticated by ICTA. In addition these participating schools will be endowed with the latest skills required in the field of ICT and also provided with many other benefits. Students and teachers will be able to get opportunities not available at any other school-based ICT event before. These opportunities include valuable prizes and the national title of Best School ICT Team granted via the Pulz Challenge Trophy.
All these activities of ACICTS will go a long way in making Sri Lanka reach one of its national goals set out in the Mahinda Chintana, Vision for the Future, namely that of Sri Lanka becoming a Knowledge Hub in the region. In this context ICTA is grateful to be knowledge partner to “Pulz’ 12” the ICTA CEO concluded.
