Thailand Week Trade Fair and Business Opportunity with Thailand are happening once again in Colombo from March 9 to 11, 2018.

The event is oranized by Thai Trade Centre Chennai, an oversea office of Department of International Trade Promotion, together with the Royal Thai Embassy Colombo to showcase best quality products from Thailand for Sri Lankans to shop and trade directly with Thai entrepreneurs, as well as to taste and experience Thai cuisine and cultural shows under one roof.

The 1st Thailand Week in 2017 was a grand opening of Thailand’s trade fair in Sri Lanka. It introduced Thai quality products to Sri Lankan market. At the same time it has created new business opportunities for both countries. The 2nd Thailand Week Trade Fair in 2018 has much more to offer in urbanizing Sri Lanka.

The Thailand Week Trade Fair and Business Matching Forum will feature more than 100 quality products directly from Thailand ranging from food and beverages, health and wellness, garment and fashion, lifestyle and home decor, and household products.

The Business Matching Forum is the 2nd of its kind. Sri Lankan businessmen can expect Thai exporters to showcase their best quality products made in Thailand and highlight items such as instant Thai food mixing powders, instant noodles, Thai biscuits and snacks, footwear, fashion bags, newborn clothes and toys, cosmetics, healthcare and skincare, herbal massaging oil, gas and cooking appliances, water filters, bathroom accessories, bedding and many more.

Director of Thai Trade Centre Chennai, Ms. Jittima Nakamano points out that, “Thailand gives importance to quality and sustainability in terms of trade and investment, therefore, the Thailand Week Business Matching Forum will provide Thai and Sri Lankan entrepreneurs with opportunities to create business network, open new markets and set up dealership for sustainable and long term trade.”

Along with the Business Matching Forum, the special event is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade of Sri Lanka. There will be a special seminar on Sri Lanka and Thailand Strategic Partnership in the Making: Perspectives on trade, investment and development opportunities between Thailand and Sri Lanka.

Experts from government and private sector of Sri Lanka and Thailand will discuss about new opportunities in areas of trade and investment, and experiences of Thailand in agriculture developments for food processing and packaging sector.

Thailand Week event will be held from March 9 to 11, 2018 at the BMICH. Trade day (B2B) and Special Seminar on March 9, 2018 from 10am – 1pm. Trade Fair and Exhibition on March 9, 2018 from 1pm – 7pm, and on March 10 and 11 from 10am – 7pm.
