World-renowned professional coach Dr. Heah to address IPM Conference in June

World-renowned professional coach Dr. Michael Heah will be a key attraction at the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) National Conference on 19 June.
Dr. Heah is a renowned ICF-Professional Certified Coach in this region and the first Malaysian to earn this global class credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF), the world’s largest and most established coaching body.
He recently received the world class Brand Laureate Icon Leadership Award for his work on Coaching in this part of the world where he leads the coaching industry here through many initiatives that are aimed to building and growing the coaching community.
He is the Founder/CEO of Corporate Coach Academy CCA), the first and leading coach-learning school and Corporate Coach (CC), a talent-building school in Malaysia and in the region. He was also a former Adjunct Professor with University Utara, Malaysia.
Michael is the Chairman/Founder of Malaysian Association of Certified Coaches, the only national coaching body here, and was also the 1st Founding President of ICF Malaysia Chapter, which was used as his platform to bring in the superior ICF brand of coaching here.
Through his hands, CCA has personally trained thousands of corporate leaders to become professional coaches in many parts of the world. Its coaching school is one of the two coaching schools in Asia, with the ICF accredited ICF-ACTP status for its high quality in coaching education. It is empowered to certify people to become ICF Professional Certified Coaches, who are globally recognised and can practice anywhere in the world.
Michael’s experience in coaching is solidly backed up by more than 30 years exposure in various senior corporate positions, such as CEO, Managing Director and Senior Group HR Director in a number of industries in tourism, hospitality, franchise, retail, education and resort development.
Being a rank and file person, he has good exposure in working at the shop floor positions as well as in a number of industries in his early years as well. With all these exposures combined, it has transformed him into a uniquely holistic person who is practical, pragmatic and strategic in everything that he does.
Michael is also a practicing corporate coach who works directly with wide ranging clients on various initiatives. Some of them are: Talent Corps, Shell, PETRONAS, Petra Energy, Total Oil, Western Digital, Sun Pharmacy, L’Oreal, Coach, IBM, various hotels, Maybank, Celcom, Reliance Pacific, University Malaya, INTI University and many governmental ministries.
On the international front, he had represented Malaysia at APEC for work related to regional tourism development for the Asia Pacific region. He was also Advisor-Consultant to the European Union and Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in work related to human resource development for the tourism sector.
He is a regular columnist on coaching in local and international dailies and is an author of 3 coaching books. He is also a blogger with a large following in ‘Stories That Coach’ where he shares his life experiences through the lens of a coach. He has a Doctorate and Masters in Hospitality & Tourism and a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Psychology and a Business Management degree from various universities in UK.
