Badminton: St. Sebastian’s and Visakha win ‘Super A’ titles

St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa and Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo won the Boys’ and Girls’ Schools Under-19 Super ‘A’ Division Badminton Championships held at Royal College Sports Complex.

 

St. Sebastian’s beat Richmond College Galle in the Boys’ final while Visakha beat Anula Vidyalaya in the Girls’ final.

 

The championship matches were worked off in six divisions for boys and five divisions for girls were concluded at the Royal College Sports Complex over three days last week.

 

The tournament was organised by Royal College Colombo and conducted by the Schools Badminton Association.

Super ‘A’ Division:
Champion: St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa
Runner-up: Richmond College Galle
Third place: Ananda College Colombo and Royal College Colombo

‘A’ Division:
Champion: Nalanda College Colombo
Runner-up: St. Anthony’s College Kandy

‘B’ Division:
Champion: St. John’s College Nugegoda
Runner-up: Bandaranayake College Gampaha

‘C’ Division:
Champion: Maris Stella College Negombo
Runner-up: Carey College Colombo

‘D’ Division:
Champion: Lyceum International School Nugegoda
Runner-up: St. Aloysious College Ratnapura

‘E’ Division:
Champion: Vidyaloka College Galle
Runner-up: Isipathana College Colombo

Girls:

Super ‘A’ Division:
Champion: Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo
Runner-up: Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda
Third place: Holy Cross College Gampaha and Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda

‘A’ Division:
Champion: Mahamaya College Kandy
Runner-up: Southland College Galle

‘B’ Division:
Champion: Central College Piliyandala
Runner-up: Sujatha Vidyalaya Matara

‘C’ Division:
Champion: Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha
Runner-up: Sri Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya Panadura

‘E’ Division:
Champion: Holy Family Convent Kalutara
Runner-up: Bishops College Colombo
