Gota’s hand reaches police houses
It is reported that police officers living in police housing complex at Thimbirigasyaya have been asked to quit the complex immediately.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development has written to the Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Order (Both ministries are under the President) that the land where the housing complex is situated is needed. It is reported that the land is to be made available for a hotel project.
However, the police officers have not been provided with any alternative arrangement to live with their families but have to seek help from their relatives and friends to find temporary accommodation.
The school going children of these police officers would be thoroughly inconvenienced once the third school term begins that would make their parents highly distressed.
