Sun directly over Sri Lanka from Aug.28 - Sept.7
The Sun is going to be directly over Sri Lanka from today to Sept.7, a Meteorology Department release said.
According to the release the Sun will be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during this period, due to its apparent southward relative motion.The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun will overhead today (28th), are Vaddukoddai, Puttur and Kudattanai around 12:12 noon.
The Met. Dept. also said few showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts particularly during the morning.
Thundershowers will develop at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or evening.

Afternoon or evening thundershower is likely in Batticaloa.
A few showers in Jaffna, Rathnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Colombo and Galle.
Mainly fair in Anuradhapura, Trincomalee and Mannar.
Max. Temperature of 35 °C is expected from Trincomalee.
