Nearly a year since it opened doors along with the refurbishing of the hotel, The Pebbles at Taj Samudra, Colombo comes to you with a brand new line up of some mouth-watering dishes courtesy Executive Chef Dhaithya Krawage.
There is nothing more perfect than to sip a cup of Sri Lankan tea, hot chocolate, or coffee and watch the evening draw to a close as the sun sets on the beautiful Galle Face Green and the traffic rushing by with people waiting to get home. Pebbles is located by the North Lawn, providing the perfect atmosphere just for that and with seating available outside as well.
Open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, Pebbles is ideal for the ones who are always in a hurry to get to work; they can order a quick bite to take or eat at the café. Meetings that do not require a heavy meal can also be held there giving the guests a complete calm environment to discuss their business.
Speaking of meals, the new menu includes salads and sandwiches with freshly baked bread and pasta. The salads include healthy tender vegetables, chunky baby spinach with herb Focaccia crutons, and Mediterranean tuna with green and white beans with virgin oil, Mexican garden salad, Chinese chicken salad with vermicelli as well as slim cottage and baby shrimp salad.
You can get the chefs there to make a sandwich according to your likings or order from what they have to offer such as grilled Cajun chicken and bacon, ripe tomato, mozzarella and basil, spicy chicken ranch sandwich, beef burger with grilled pineapple or Bombay toasty paneer.
The breads which are available for the sandwich are herb focaccia, ciabatta, panini, tortilla, brown roll and sesame roll. Taking a little trip to Italy, guests can choose from Spaghetti Aglio E Olio Peperoncino with garlic & olive oil, homemade spinach gnocchi with tomato and shrimps, fettuccine and tagliatelle with shoe lobster bolognese, penne rigate with fresh tomatoes & dried porcini or risotto alla milanese with saffron and vermouth.
