Construction work on Hali Ela Migrant Resource Centre commences
The construction work on the Uva province Migrant Resource Centre of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau commenced on Friday (12) in Hali–Ela under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The estimated cost for the construction of the Migrant Resource Centre in Hali Ela is 550 million rupees. The people not only in Badulla and moneragala, but people in the Nuwara Eliya District too will benefit from this Centre.
Presently the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has 07 regional centres and 25 district and other training centres. These centres provide various services to persons to go abroad for employment purposes. With the view to providing better training facilities to migrant workers, it has been proposed to construct well designed Migrant Resource Centres with all necessary facilities, including residential training, particularly in District Capitals.
