Elecltion Results to Media through Govt.Information Department
Issuing of Uva PC election results to the media will be done by the Government Information Department with the approval of the Director General Prof.Ariyarathna Athugala, said the Elelction's Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya.
Once an approved result is received from the Election Commissioner, it will be issued as and when it is received under the signature of the Director General of Government Information.
This year all arrangements have been made to issue the results through fax as well as through a new computerized method via internet to the media institutions. Accordingly the Government Information Department will release the results as and when the results are received by the Dept.
Also the Department has made arrangements to issue results through the government news portal www.news.lk via the internet on http://election.news.lk/ which is accessible to anyone. Also the results will be issued via Short Message Service (SMS).
