Six Day Workshop on CMIDA Held at KKS

Advanced Module for senior officers workshop on Civil Military Inter Dependency Activities (CMIDA) organized by the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) was held recently for 6 days at Thalsevana Holiday Resort, Kankasanthurei (KKS). The workshop was aimed at sharing experience so far gained in carrying out Civil Military Inter Dependency Activities in the Peninsula and further enhancing knowledge on the subject.

Rohan Senevirathna, Additional Secretary (Technical) of Ministry of Defence and Urban Development attended the inauguration Ceremony as Chief Guest and delivered Keynote address highlighting the importance of organizing the workshop. About 80 senior officers including staff officers of formation headquarters and Civil Affairs Officers attended the workshop.

 

Civil Military Inter Dependency Activities in Jaffna on directivities of Commander Security Force Jaffna Major General Udaya Perera are executed under 19 projects designed to uplift living standard of Jaffna populace and improving Civil Military relationship.

 

Maulavi Hakam Deen Amhar of Muslim ladies Arabic College Gampaha, Deputy Vice Chancellor Univercity of Peradeniya Prof. Shantha K. Hennayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Council  RAAK Ranawake, Executive Director at National Peace Council of Sri Lanka Dr. Jehan Perera, Brigadier (Retd) Rohan Jayasinghe and a few intellectuals delivered lectures during the workshop.

 

Major General LWCBB Rajaguru, Director Infantry - Army Head Quarters delivered the closing address. (KH)
