‘Manpower’ workers win rights
‘Manpower’ workers serving in Ceylon Electricity Board and National Water and Drainage Board held a massive campaign opposite the head office of CEB yesterday (17th) demanding permanency in their employment.
Moe than 4800 ‘manpower’ workers and members of their families participated in eh agitation. While the agitation was going on the Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy had given a written promise to the General Secretary of Lanka Electricity Board Employees’ Union Ranjan Jayalal that all ‘manpower’ workers would be made permanent within this week.
