New And Former Opposition Leaders Meet At Mini Budget!
The new Opposition Leader, Nimal Siripala de Silva seems to be calling on the former Opposition Leader and the present Prime Minister Ranil Wicremesinghe to clarify a point with regard to the Mini Budget presented in Parliament on Wednesday.
The new budget, presented by Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, has brought down the prices of 13 essentials and a number of other relief measures and concessions. It has also proposed measures to boost domestic agriculture and industries.
Bus fares too had been reduced while public servants have been granted a salary increase of Rs.10,000. These relief measures have prompted certain business leaders to question as to how these relief measures could be financed.
