No need to rush - Dinesh
UPFA constituents today demanded the government not to rush proposed Constitutional amendments as it has ample time left in the 100 day programme.
Leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna MP Dinesh Gunawardena said that the opposition had decided to request from the government not to rush proposed amendments to the Constitution and the bill containing reforms should not be presented to Parliament as an urgent one.
Addressing a press conference held at the Committee Room 8 of the Parliament complex, the MEP Leader said that they would request the government present reforms as a regular bill so that it would have at least seven days for public to study the proposed reforms or to go before courts opposing them.
