Australia satisfied with Sri Lankan measures to halt illegal migrants
The Australian High Commissioner has said that Australian Government is satisfied with the programme mooted by the Sri Lankan Government against illegal migrants. She made this observation during a meeting with Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa.
A delegation headed by the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Robyn Mudie met the Minister at the Justice Ministry. The Minister told them that the present Government was taking initiatives to enact new regulations to prevent illegal migration.
He also told the Australian delegation that the measures adopted by the previous Government to prevent crimes related to human trafficking and the laws related to it were not sufficient. Ambassador on Migration activities of the Foreign and Trade Affairs Department of the Australian Government Andrew Goledinoviski also joined in this discussion.
