Priyantha Sirisena passes away
Priyantha Sirisena, the brother of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, has succumbed to the injuries he suffered following an attack on March 26, the police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
Priyantha Sirisena who was injured in a brawl opposite a house in the Polonnaruwa Hathare Ela area was first admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital. Thereafter he was airlifted to Colombo. Priyantha Sirisena who was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital last night was later transferred to a Private Hospital.
ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that Sirisena was in critical condition and he succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning. He was 43 years old.
Meanwhile, the attacker surrendered to the Bakamuna Police last night. The Police took action to produce him in Courts.
