70-year-old beats man to death
An individual, who has been beaten with a steel rod, was pronounced dead upon admission to Thaligala hospital in Kitulgala yesterday (26), Police Media Unit told Ceylon Today Online. The victim has been beaten to death at a house in Malwatta area of Kitulgala police division, yesterday noon.
The victim was a 40-year-old resident of Welgala, Malwatta.
The dead body is kept at the morgue of Thaligama hospital. The post mortem examination is to be held today (27).
Police have arrested the 70-year-old perpetrator of the murder. He is also a resident of Welgala area in Malwatta. He will be produced to Ruwanwella Magistrate's Courts today (27).
It has been revealed in police investigations that the suspect has assaulted the victim due to sudden rage.
Kithulgala Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
