There were 10 centurions in the first week of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major League Tier ‘A’  Tournament which showcased to what extent batsmen excelled in the ongoing tournament. centuries in the second innings. Former national captain Angelo Mathews topped the lot with a superb unbeaten 173 followed by Kamindu Mendis’ unbeaten 150 for Chilaw Marians CC, Colombo CC’s Kusal Mendis 139, Army’s Dinesh Chandimal 129,  Lankan CC’s Chanaka Ruwansiri 124, NCC’s Upul Tharanga 121, Army’s Thulina Dilshan unbeaten 116, 105 n.o. NCC’s Lahiru Udara 106, and BRC’s Dilshan de Soysa 105 and Colts CC’s Shanthush Gunathilake 100.

Meanwhile, six bowlers got into the 5-wicket bracket namely Dilesh Gunarathna (NCC) 5 for 42, Upul Indrasiri (Negombo CC)  5 for 34, Kavishka Anjula (Moors SC) 5 for 39, Kavishka Anjula (Moors SC) 6 for 35, Lakshitha Rasanajana (Negombo CC) 5 for 85 and Lahiru Samarakoon (Baduraliya CC) 5 for 85. vs Moors SC  

The outstanding match bags during the week were by Moors SC right arm medium paceman Kavishka Anjula who 11 wickets for 74 runs against Baduraliya SC, while CCC’s Malinda Pushpakumara had a haul of 8 for 80 against Ragama CC
