Field Marshal Fonseka says he is dedicated to creating peace, trust and security amongst all

Leader of the Democratic Party Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka states that he is dedicated towards creating peace, trust and security amongst all citizens.

He made this statement during a media briefing after paying homage to the Jayasri Maha Bodhiya.

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka who called on the Atamasthanadipathi Venerable Pallegama Sirinivasa Thera, paid homeage to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodiya in Anuradhapura. Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said:

We should leave no room for terrorism and conflicts between communities to re-emerge in this country. Everyone in this country should be protected and the country should be rebuilt. We saw the end of terrorism six years ago.

Also, thereafter we witnessed how the political leaders of this nation struggled to create their personal images instead of trying to create reconciliation that is much needed in the country and providing a sense of relief to those who were affected by the war. They did not work towards creating peace, trust and security amongs races and religions. However, today, with the current government, we are actively involved in this endeavour.
