Ranbhumi Rally for Unity reaches Dambulla – the 51st town in countrywide journey
The Ranbhumi Rally for Unity, which is bringing Sri Lankan hearts together, brick by brick, visited the 51st town in its countrywide journey today. Amid the blessings of countless people who lined either side of the route of the procession, the Ranbhumi Rally for Unity, reached Dambulla.
A symbol of the strength of the nation united in its diversity, the rally, was welcomed in the Galewela town on Sunday morning. This is the 17th day of the countrywide journey; an event was marked to flag off today’s leg of the rally in Melsiripura.
Youth Services Officer of the Ibbagamuwa Divisional Secretariat, Keerthi Thilak Kumara stated that this programme was made with the hope of highlighting the importance of unity among people and the support provided would be instrumental in building a united nation
A group of war heroes, who put their lives on the line for the country also extended their best wishes for the Ranbhumi Rally which has traveled across 1500 villages, town and cities, to reach Dambulla on Sunday afternoon. The rally was welcomed by the band of the Veera Mohan Jayamaha College in Dambulla and the people of Dambulla too, ceremonially gifted a brick for the Ranbhumi monument, marking their commitment to the development journey of the country.
The Ranbhumi Rally for Unity will reach the Matale town at 9 a.m. on Monday, Day 18 the countrywide journey, before travelling to the Wattegama junction at 11 a.m and will reach the endpoint of tomorrow’s leg of the journey, Kandy, at about 2 p.m. on Monday.
