Asgiri and Malwathu Chief Prelates give blessings to MTV/MBC Networks’ efforts

The Chief Prelates of the Asgiri and Malwathu chapters of the Siam Sect, extended their blessings for the effort undertaken by MTV and MBC Networks, to foster national unity through the Ranbhumi Rally.

The chief prelates extended their blessings, when representatives called on them to inform them of the arrival of the Ranbhumi Rally in Kandy. Representatives of MTV, MBC and News1st, visited the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera, at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy on the morning of Monday, May 25, and apprised him on the Ranbhumi Rally.

Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera noted that Sirasa always undertakes novel initiatives. The Chief Prelate went on to note that the programme that is being undertaken at present is very good as it spreads unity and religious unity

Director/General Manager of News 1st, Yasarath Kamalsiri stated that they commenced this journey on May 8 from Tailamannar and surpassed the cities of Jaffna, Killinochchi, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee and Dambulla as well. He went on to note that the main purpose of this endeavour is to build a monument of national unity.

Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter Most Ven. Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera stated that there is no need for divisions of ethnicity because several communities live in this island, therefore they must live together in Unity. He went on to note that they constantly say in their advise and consultation that every person must live as a Sri Lankan citizen.

He went on to note that they have a great praise towards Sirasa when it comes to religious activities. Happiness is brought about in the people, when Sirasa comes to places of worship and covers religious observances in this manner that all intentions are achieved.

He further added that he is extremely happy about the work that Sirasa has carried out at present and also in the future which will receive the praise of the people, propagate religious observances and give advise to everyone following the Panchaseela.
