Jan 18, Colombo: The Sri Lankan parliament today passed an amendment bill that would affect the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), country's major retirement fund for the employees in the corporate and private sector.
The Employees Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill has been passed in Parliament. 71 voted for and 21 against the Bill. Joining in the debate, Minister Gamini Lokuge said that those who serve in many institutions have various EPF numbers. As such they proposed to use the National Identity Card
