Vasantham TV commemorates 3rd Anniversary
Vasantham TV, the Tamil Channel of the Independent Television Network completes three years of operations.
ITN launched the Vasantham Television Service three years ago on 25th June 2009, further expanding its network. Vasantham TV was able to come much closer to the hearts of the people of the North and East, which were freed from the clutches of the terrorists after a 30-year-old war. It became very much popular among not only the Tamil and Muslim communities but also the Sinhala community within a short span.
By today it has succeeded in attracting the viewers in various fields. It is traversing on a competitive successful path along with other Tamil Channels. With the establishment of the Kokavil Tower, Vasantham TV was also to cover a wide area.
Vasantham TV on behalf of its anniversary took the initiative of going in search of the Northern polity to support them. Library books for 10 schools were handed over under the patronage of ITN Chairman Rosmand Senaratne and Jaffna Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe. A stock of paint worth five million rupees was handed over for four schools to paint the buildings. The Multilac Paint Company sponsored this contribution.
A mega musical show was organized on Saturday, to Vasantham TV viewers of Vasantham TV marking its third Anniversary. The show organized at the Sallamuttu grounds at Manipai in Jaffna was a major success. Thousands of fans flock to the venue to view this Mega Musical Show. A Medical Clinic was organized for the benefit of the Northern polity. A simple ceremony was held at the ITN Head Office premises today with the Staff members who were a strength for the success of Vasantham TV. Senior Officers led by ITN Chairman Rosmand Senaratne graced the occasion.
