Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon has been appointed Acting IGP by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. He replaced C.D. Wickramaratne, who previously received three service extensions. Tennakoon joined the police service in 1998. He will reach retirement age in 2032.
