Former Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee, Nishantha Ranatunge cannot contest for the Cricket Board at the elections scheduled to be held on January 3rd, although he is being backed by parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, a senior Sports Ministry official said.
Former Sri Lanka Cricket head Tilanga Sumathipala on Sunday said he was keen to contest the re-elections for the top post to be held on January 3.

The Sri Lanka Cricket elections earlier scheduled to be held on December 27 has now been postponed to January 3, 2012, the Government Information Department stated.
